Botulinum toxin is a naturally occurring compound used in aesthetics to prevent muscles responding to nerve impulses. Facial expressions such as frowning create forehead lines caused by contraction of the underlying muscle. Small doses of Botulinum toxin administered to facial muscles lead to their isolation and subsequent inability to contract, effectively smoothing the skin. You will not see a change straight away — the effects take several days to achieve optimal results. They are however temporary, and from 6 weeks post-procedure, movement will begin to return, although the procedural effects will last approximately 3 to 6 months. The days after the procedure: There is virtually no downtime associated with anti-wrinkle treatments. Some clients report headaches and occasionally flu-like symptoms, but these are nothing to worry about, and can be treated with proprietary pain killers. Treatments should be scheduled no less than 12 weeks apart; otherwise, you are at risk of building a resistance to the botulinum toxin. As this is a prescription-only medication, it cannot be prescribed within these limits. Once botulinum toxin wears off, your muscles will function as they did before treatment, this means the wrinkles that you had smoothed, will slowly begin to appear again. No new wrinkles have resulted due to treatment.
Most dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid (HA) a naturally occurring substance made in the dermal layer of the skin, where it absorbs vast amounts of water creating volume, effectively 'plumping' the skin. Hyaluronic acid is the basis of most reversible fillers used in aesthetic practice, to smooth facial lines caused by loss of underlying tissue, it can also be used to augment facial structures such as the lips. HA is broken down naturally by enzymes in the skin, so its effects are temporary, typically 9 - 18 months. This depends on the area treated and the individual's ability to metabolise HA. As we age, the fibroblasts in the dermal layer become less active, and their hyaluronic acid output diminishes. Consequently, ageing skin loses its volume. Hyaluronic acid fillers vary in their consistency, more viscous fillers have a 'thicker' consistency, and are suited to replace significant volume loss such as the cheeks, less viscous fillers would be employed more superficially in the lips. Dermal fillers are administered by injection using a needle or cannula. By careful mapping of the face, and thorough knowledge of the anatomy of the facial arteries, your practitioner will know exactly where to inject, away from the blood vessels which could, in rare situations, be occluded by the dermal filler.
Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) facial injectable treatment that helps stimulate the skin's natural collagen production. It works gradually to restore the skin's inner structure, resulting in a more youthful-looking appearance. Sculptra helps correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds, including: • Nasolabial folds (smile lines) • Marionette lines • Pre-auricular wrinkles (vertical wrinkles in front of the ears) • Radial cheek folds (vertical wrinkles below the cheeks) • Chin wrinkles Unlike most dermal fillers, which use hyaluronic acid to replace lost volume, Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). Once administered, PLLA stimulates fibroblasts to produce collagen, creating a natural-looking effect with the added benefit of long-lasting results. As we age, collagen — the skin's support structure — diminishes. Collagen makes up 70% of our skin and plays a key role in maintaining elasticity and moisture. Collagen loss leads to sagging and a loss of skin volume. Sculptra addresses the underlying cause of facial ageing: collagen loss. By doing so, it subtly and gradually adds volume, lifting soft tissues and plumping the skin from within. You will be assessed and 2-4 treatments recommended, reviewed every 5 weeks and added to as required.
Dermaplaning is an extremely effective procedure which uses a medical grade blade to remove vellus hair and a layer of dead epidermal skin cells on the surface of the skin. This has a twofold effect, by removing vellus hair and dead epidermal cells that absorb up to 85% of our topical hydrating products, more of the active products used in the facial can target healthy skin cells enabling a deeper hydration. This leads to a more effective procedure and increased skin cell regeneration. Raffine is an automated micro needling device used to deliver hundreds of tiny microchannels into the dermis, with the addition of a meso-cocktail (a blend of amino acids) fibroblasts are stimulated to produce collagen and elastin. These two proteins are responsible for skin strength and suppleness, reducing the dreaded ageing skin laxity. Facials help to hydrate the skin and active products such as peels and EGFs boost cell renewal and skin regeneration. They are an important maintenance program for those currently receiving aesthetic treatments such as anti-wrinkle and dermal fillers as they prolong and enhance the effects of these expensive skin investments.
Peels help to reduce the visible signs of ageing by exfoliating the outermost layer of dead skin cells and stimulating cell renewal in the dermis. The newly remodelled skin cells contain more collagen and elastin, making the skin stronger and more supple. Peels can also address other problems such as pigmentation issues, active acne, and acne scarring. The active products below are prepared in different combinations to create the ‘Lumilight’, ‘Purify’ and ‘Rejuv’ peels. The combination of components in medical peels can be tailored to meet your objectives. In addition, the way they are applied and neutralised can be adapted to control any discomfort and fit your skin type. They are extremely versatile. Medical peels such as those used in the clinic range must not be confused with the more aggressive peels used by dermatologists to treat deeper scarring. Our peels do not cause the excessive peeling, discomfort and downtime associated with these treatments, and do not require any anaesthesia.
Microneedling creates controlled micro-channels in the skin to stimulate the body's natural collagen and elastin production. Ideal for improving skin texture, reducing scarring, and achieving a smoother, more youthful complexion.
Urinary incontinence, affecting 3 to 6 million individuals in the UK, predominantly impacts women, with more than 80% experiencing its effects. Pelvic floor muscles, crucial for bladder and organ support, can weaken due to factors like age, childbirth, or menopause, leading to conditions such as stress or urge incontinence. Stress incontinence, when urine leaks from the bladder when coughing or sneezing, results from weakening of the pelvic floor muscles and muscles at the neck of the bladder, caused by aging and vaginal childbirth. Urge incontinence is caused by irregular contraction of the muscles in the wall of the bladder, resulting in the urge to pee even when the bladder is empty. Weakened pelvic floor muscles exacerbate the problem. Poor pelvic floor muscle tone can also lead to intimate health issues. In men, weakened pelvic floor muscles can also contribute to urinary incontinence and intimate health issues. The EMS Chair delivers focused electromagnetic energy, prompting pelvic floor and bladder control muscles to contract and relax thousands of times in a single session. Each 28-minute appointment provides the equivalent of 11,000 kegel exercises, contributing to muscle strength without the need for strenuous workouts. Clients experience no downtime and can sit fully clothed throughout the whole procedure.
Plasma therapy uses the skin’s natural healing response to encourage the development of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid in the dermal layer of the skin. The plasma device generates a plasma ‘flash’ that sublimates the dead epidermal cells at the surface, leaving a tiny carbon crust. The heat from the flash reaches the dermal layer where it triggers fibroblast cells to remodel the skin by secreting collagen, which gives skin its strength, elastin allows it to stretch, whilst hyaluronic acid volumises the skin. Following the procedure there is about 5 days downtime, after which any swelling has subsided, and the carbon crusts have exfoliated. Full remodelling of the skin takes 12 weeks, by which time the skin is tighter and rejuvenated. This non-surgical option carries far less risk compared to conventional surgery, at a fraction of the cost, and a topical anaesthetic ensures as little discomfort as possible. This procedure is extremely effective at reducing hooded or baggy eyelids, Crow’s Feet and Smokers’ Lines. It is also very useful and effective procedure for the removal of skin tags and moles.
Safe and effective removal of unwanted skin lesions including moles, skin tags, warts, milia, and sebaceous cysts. Treatments are carried out with precision and care to minimise discomfort and achieve a clean, clear result.
PRX-T33 for lightening pigmented skin, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and skin rejuvenation. PRX-T33 has a unique effect on the skin where it causes tightening, rejuvenation, and evens skin tones, all in one simple, painless procedure. PRX-T33 also helps to reduce the appearance of scars, acne, stretch marks, and melasma, as well as slowing down the process of dermal ageing. Unlike many aesthetic procedures, PRX-T33 can be carried out on those with darker skin, without the risk of hyperpigmentation. The degree of skin pigmentation is measured by the Fitzpatrick Scale, which ranges from 1 to 6. Those with pale skin, blue eyes, blond hair and burn easily are Fitzpatrick 1, whereas olive skinned individuals with brown eyes, dark hair and rarely burn score 6. PRX-T33 is suitable for all Fitzpatrick skin types.
